About:

I always wanted a private island to live on in Fallout 4 (Especially one with a sandy beach), but wasn't satisfied with Spectacle Island. Taking to the Nexus for alternatives, I looked over several mods that added new islands to the game, but one stood out above the rest; "Forgotten Cove" by Dennisbam23. The island is located off the Far Harbor coast and is amazingly detailed, has a very authentic Maine feel, and features a unique layout for building on. However... The island isn't an actual settlement.

The author built it with the use of mods like Conquest in mind. Any of you who have used conquest will know that there's several issues with the settlements it creates such as not being able to attract settlers. The other problem I had was you couldn't get to this island until you had at least started Far Harbor, and that wasn't in the cards for my current playthrough.

What I have done is made an actual working settlement on the island (It covers all of the island and maybe 20 feet out into the ocean in every direction) as well as add an alternate way to get there. I added a pier and small dock with a boat docked at it (All navmeshed) that will allow the player to travel to and from the dock by The Castle in the Commonwealth and the harbor area in Far Harbor. Other than that, Dennis' work remains unchanged. Note though that this requires his original mod to function. Without it, you'll just have a settlement out in the open ocean. Be sure to follow his instructions when installing it, and put this patch **AFTER** his mod in your load order. A link to the mod can be found in the requirements section.

Requirements:

MANDATORY: "Forgotten Cove" by Dennisbam23

OPTIONAL: "ReGrowth Overhaul" by Spiffyskytrooper - Only needed if you want living trees like seen in my screenshots. Otherwise they are default dead Far Harbor trees.

Known conflicts:

"The Moon Palace" by Galejro - Both mods modify the dock South of The Castle.

Known issues:

There's some navmesh issues, primarily under the water line around the island and on top of the mountians/rocks. These are from the original mod, and I have no plans as of current to fix them.

Notes:

The island can be chosen for the radiant workshop attack quests, but it is excluded from 

Minutemen defense quests. The Minutemen aren't present in Far Harbor and

it wouldn't be logical.
